Planking for Pizza: A Body Positive Guide to a Confident, Healthy, Happy You
A Personal Journey ─ Overcoming Low Self Esteem and Building Self Confidence
Are you a young girl or woman struggling with body confidence and self acceptance?
First of all, know you’re not alone as I, and thousands of other women, struggle with that too. But if you want to know how I found self love and body acceptance, then this book is for you! And your friends, daughters, wives, sisters, aunts, mothers, etc.! It is a raw and vulnerable account into my past and present and how I had to abandon certain notions about myself so that I could become who I am today.
“I honestly could not wait to get my butt to B&N to buy this book. It is just soooooo amazing it literally had me crying. I have found someone that understands and can truly help me in my fight to love myself again. I honesty could not leave B&N without reading the whole thing. My fiancé sat next to me and kept repeatedly asking, “Why are you crying?” and I am honestly touched and cannot express to you enough how thankful I am. You have honestly saved my life. I thought I would never meet another person going through what I am. I thought this was it for me but you have lit a fire in my heart that I have not felt in a very long time. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!”

Societal standards and expectations combined with a growing social media culture can significantly impact self image and esteem.

This book challenges those standards and how you can flourish and learn to accept WHO you are and abandon the notion that WHAT you look like is your value to society. It is not! You are so much more than what your stomach or thighs look like. YOU are important for the thoughts you share, the feelings you have, the dreams you live, and the soul that touches all the other souls you encounter in your lifetime.
“Funny, engaging, and very candid. I love how you provided “food for thought”- those exercises to help women “think things through”. So creative and inspiring. I am really impressed. Awesome read!”

About Jess
Plankingforpizza is about searching for what ignites my inner being, creating balance within my mind, and finding what sets my soul on fire all through living a healthy and active lifestyle. My mission to self discovery began June 1, 2015 after I had a picture taken of myself and was shocked by what I saw. I remember telling my roommate, “I look like a beached whale!" She replied with, “You do not look like a beached whale. You just do not see yourself the way the rest of the world sees you”. It was in that moment something clicked. I was finally ready to make a change and decided to choose self love! I was finally going to put all my effort into myself and focus on improving my mental and physical health. The best way I can describe the time since this day is like a butterfly moment, a time of beautiful emergence and transformation. I have grown in so many ways. I have learned a lot about myself with physical, as well as mental, capabilities. Most importantly, I have learned to love myself as I am today while working towards a happier and more fulfilled tomorrow.
